Zodiac In Myths And Tarot

Zodiac In Myths And Tarot

What exactly do the symbols of your sign mean? Since childhood we hear about some strange animals, people and creatures and we get so used to them that rarely think about their origin. Have you ever thought who Aries was, what did Centaur do, where was Virgo wandering before they appeared in the night sky and became known and popular astrological symbols, before they start representing us humans and before they turn just into some set of human features? What can you tell about your sign except some descriptive words? If you explore the story behind your sign you may feel how astrological belonging create the inseparable bound with the ancient cultures. Being an embodiment of lots of ancient stories, old and forgotten, they are the keepers and holders of this treasure. Simple as they may seem, they contain so much that even a book is not enough to describe. Each glyph and title reminds a god, a goddess, dramatic plot from myth, creatures, heroes, helpers from Greek, Egyptian, Sumerian cultures. And each time you imagine astrology signs, speak or write about them you awake everything which hides behind it. The knowledge about Zodiac symbol may let out an immense potential energy hidden inside you, provide you with totally new vision about your secret powers, inspire when you face challenges or are involved in tense and hard task. Astrology is a very reasonable and one of the most amazing way to study Tarot symbols and spirit. In Tarot deck Major Arcana have correspondence to astrology. 22 trumps represent 12 Zodiac signs and 10 planets. Having discussed astrology and reflecting upon the signs people belong to I often heard how much they wished to be born under another sign. There was time when I wished to become a strong and confident Leo instead of dreamy and shy Pisces. Only later when I learned about the power of mystic and deep Pisces I learned to love my sign. Maybe you admire some features other signs possess. Don’t get upset and leave regrets. Just allow you time to work with relevant Tarot Arcana which will help. you, provide you with totally new vision about your secret powers, inspire when you face challenges or are involved in tense and hard task. Of course many do love their sign but who can boast to be totally free from some disadvantages and weaknesses which we used to ascribe to our own sign? Leos complain on irresistible anger, Cancers cannot get rid of melancholy, Virgos fight with their criticism… I am sure each has his own enemy to battle. Tarot cards can serve a perfect tool to attract the power of a certain Zodiac sign in your life and focus on its positive side. You can just look at the trump which is connected to your sing or desired sign and perform a sort of meditation with certain figures and plots described on it. If you want to enhance your inner forces don’t forget about Tarot trumps which help to connect to higher source of energy.

Inner Child

Inner Child

How many times do we hear about the inner child and let it out or honouring it, but just what is it and are we really carrying some kid around with us? Our inner child is our childlike aspect. It includes all that we learned and experienced as children, before puberty. The inner child denotes a semi-independent entity subordinate to the waking conscious mind. It is part of us in fact its part of the three parts of us! We have an inner child and inner parent and an adult all part of our minds - sounds crowded doesn’t it. But most of us are not aware of those three states, the parent is all about 'should and ought' what we think we have to do - is what we have learnt from our parents, caregivers or adult who influenced our childhood, when we criticize ourselves that’s from them too. The adult is when react in the moment no influences from anyone just a real and authentic response. Now the inner child is all of what we learnt to survive as a child - so did we adapt or rebel, did we learn it was not good to be angry or even worse to feel at all, could we make a mistake, were we good enough or abandoned. All this influences how we react as a gown up. This child can be wounded and so as a gown up be placid and nice as anger is wrong, eat, drink or take drugs to never feel again or never ever feel they have done anything right - the perfectionist. With that troubled child is the free child the one that laughed for no reason, loved the seaside, played in the garden and loved life. The child, who got excited, danced and sang out of tune. This child is the part of us that often struggles to be let out as an adult but is the part who will bring us real joy by allowing us to really enjoy simple pleasures like dancing and singing, playing with our own children and having a paddle. There is no set way to let this child out but doing things you did as a child for the sheer fun of it is a start, stop worrying about the small things and move on , spend time with your kids and just do what they do, eat a lollypop or have a bar of chocolate and don’t care if goes on your shirt or how fattening it is. You may struggle with ‘playing’ and that’s when you know your inner child needs some help - John Bradshaw’s book about the inner child helped me it’s a great place to start.

When the Hermit meets the Hanged man

When the Hermit meets the Hanged man

When the hermit meets the hanged man, he tries to understand what his purpose is. As he reflects he begins to understand that the hanged man contemplates the universe in a different way, he looks beyond the celestial vault ( a point to the heavens above the celestial sphere) and views the universe as a projection of a sphere in the form of a circle. From an outsiders (such as the hermit) point of view it will appear below him, but we must put our ideas of what high and low are to understand this. The sphere as a universe is whole and when reflected becomes a circle. Within the circle are the movement of the stars, their rhythmic movement makes it possible to understand the secrets to the universe and this is what we know as the zodiac, which constantly changes and has an influence on the cosmos. The hanged man is conscious of the secrets of the zodiac circle, through acceptance comes knowledge therefore the truth. The hermit realises this and takes time to stand still and contemplate on the effect astrology has on finding the truth and has gained another piece of the puzzle to aid him on his quest.

Spirit Guides

Spirit Guides

We all have spirit guides who help us with certain parts of our lives and some that stay from birth to death. We can meditate, join circles and learn to communicate with them. But just how do we get their advice back? You know that gut feeling, that something is wrong or something is the best thing ever? You have nothing to base this on, you simply know. Spirit guides often poke you in the stomach with a gut feeling, butterflies or a real jab if it’s important. If you have a feeling in your stomach your guide is really showing the answer. Follow you gut instinct if you feel someone will let you down then make sure you put plans in place for when they do, use your gut instinct to protect yourself. Look out for signs, spirit guides often arrange repeated signs to let you know you are the right path or the wrong path. Look out for numbers that you see every day, events like passing three weddings in a day, or find the same passage quote sin mall the books you look at. Do you see the sane quote on Face book time after time in one day - what’s the message in there for you? Keep your eyes open for signs, remember what you have asked from your spirit guides and soon the signs will become clear answers. Dreams are often messages from both your mind and your guides, spirit guides use the time when you are half awake and half asleep to communicate with you. It’s the point when you are most spiritually aligned. They can send you images of your departed loved ones, images of the future and answers to your questions. But your brain plays tricks on you as it is often difficult to remember your dreams as you go right back to sleep again after the dream, try to keep a dream journal and when you analyze them remember you can be any character in the dream to find out its meaning. Telepathy is how most trained mediums access messages and information from their spirit guides. Telepathy is when you receive information by hearing or seeing something in your mind, or what is called “your mind’s eye” that another person (or in this case a spirit) has intentionally put there as an attempt to communicate with you. In other words your spirit guide is relaying a direct answer to you, in simple words directly into your mind. So you may have asked for help with studying and from nowhere the name of the very book you need will appear in your head, no feelings or imagery just the title. This is where meditation is needed, the more you meditate the more you can define your own thoughts and internal conversations from those of your spirit guide. A journal here is a good idea too as you can note down those answers you get telepathically and identify what they refer to after some thought. Along with signs and images spirit guides can send you the right people for your needs, the people who have the answers to your questions or the power to change your situation. People who can support you, people you miss or people who needs to make amends to you (or the other way around). This is not coincidence this is often spirit guides at work in your life. Remember that if the sign, feeling or voice resonates with you then it is probably from spirit guides in your life. Once you learn to trust these you will get great results and make some life changing decisions. It’s about taking the first step in believing what you have seen or heard.

Ten Card Spread

Ten Card Spread

Meaning of a Ten Card Spread If you have never experienced a Tarot card reading you are in for a treat! Tarot readers pull cards and lay these cards out in certain spreads to give you understanding in the areas you desire. This can touch love, family, health and work. Spreads can vary as wide reaching as there are Tarot readers; with each one favoring their own version. I never tire of doing Tarot readings because each one is unique to the person being read. I also love hearing the reactions when the cards reveal insight only the reader would be aware of or more importantly, needed to hear at that moment. Tarot is that helpful. Whether you need insight into your daily happenings, seeking information about love or work at a deeper level, reaffirming where your intuition is guiding you or even finding strategies to deal with certain situations; Tarot can help you find the direction. For my general readings I use a well-known 10 Card Celtic Spread to read your past, present & forthcoming influences. This is not only a popular way to read Tarot cards but an effective one as well. Each card and its placement in the Tarot spread gives the reader the opportunity to understand their drives, motivations, how others view us and what can hold us back from enjoying where we are or executing our next steps. As an example of the power of the 10 Card Celtic Spread I use, the first card placement starts with understanding what is significant in your life right now. The second card placement, The Crossing Card is one I have personal grown to love because it is placed across the face of the first card placement and lets us see what is blocking you from fully realizing the potential and possibly causing conflict with your first card placement. This card's reveal can help the person being read understand this important insight because what is so great about the Tarot, you can take a Crossing Card and put it to good use once we understand we hold this same power within to manifest its energies in the positive. Tarot can help you find strategic direction. Whether applied to loved ones or business the insight a Tarot reading offers can be invaluable in our planning. We can easily get caught up in the emotional reaction of a perceived confrontation or feel we need to speak a certain truth so we can move forward. Tarot can help us find the way when dealing with people and situations that need to go by the wayside by helping you map out a plan. With the pull of 10 cards we can understand where you are, see how others view you, what you are learning through this experience and what strategy you can deploy. For a quick overview I have included the meaning for each card placement in the 10 card spread. First card placement: Called the Significator because it represents the overall tone of the reading. Second card placement: The Crossing card placed across the face of the first card placement lets us see what is preventing you from fully taking advantage of the first card placement and maybe causing a struggle within with your first card placement. Third Card placement: The Crowning card placement! I love this card because I feel it is the card position the God/universe want us to focus on to help us as we work through our situations and decisions. Fourth Card Placement: The Base of the Matter is this cards placement - I like to call it what is the feeling in your gut. Fifth Card Placement: This card let's see what influences have been touching you over the last several months and are leaving your life now. Sixth Card Placement: The forthcoming influence in your life. You are already probably seeing signs of this card emerging. Seventh Card Placement: An extension of the First Card Placement - the Significator. Further insight into how you are feeling. Eighth Card Placement: This card tells us how others view you. Ninth Card Placement: Our hopes and fears are represented in this one card placement. The ying and yang of our life situations play out in this card. Tenth Card Placement: Called the Final Outcome this card highlights further the influences of the sixth card placement.

The Hermit

The Hermit

We all may practice the occult in some way every day. If you meditate, practice yoga, read your daily astrology, even birthday wishes have their roots in practices others consider the occult. Even today, some religious organizations list astrology as an occult no-no. I remember, even as short as 25 years ago, I received the same odd looks when I told others I loved and believed in astrology as I do today with Tarot. Now, almost all papers and magazines have an astrology column. Interesting, how time can change our attitude from one of fear to acceptance. The Tarot cards themselves speak of this universal change in the card of The Hermit. The Hermit teaches us God's truths. He holds a lantern of bright light to show us the path to achieve his experience of the divine that is held within each of us. Through these deep connections we have developed our own internal religion. This fire fuels the light of the Hermit's lantern. In some of the ancient decks, The Hermit hides his lantern beneath his over cloak, cautious to share his knowledge because others perceive this information to have origins in the occult. And as time does, in modern decks, The Hermit proudly holds his lantern out and forward for others to follow so they can learn and share the powerful reassurance of faith in God and ourselves. If you want a real eye-opener in regards to the meaning of the word occult, do a Goggle search. How did the Latin word occultus meaning hidden secret jump to its association with black magic and the devil. Yikes! That is spooky! There may be several answers to this question. The word occult is often used to describe the supernatural and the unexplained. These two words alone can scare most people but when you include the word occult in a sentence with either of those words; people will run to hide. When abilities or practices bear the occult, supernatural or unexplained label, they go against what science and religion want us to believe is possible. And scientists and religious organization can be great marketers! Science and religion can collaborate in delivering their definition of the word occult to mutual benefit. As a Virgo I am a lover of the woods, water, all earthly beings and feel comfortable in this world. When I first learned the word Pagan meant 'Country Dweller' I thought this makes sense and maybe why I feel a connection to this word. But as I dug deeper, I realized at one time Pagan meant a civilian who lived in a rural setting but was later shaped into a religious cult, with freighting images of earthly rituals. If you think the number 13 holds some 'bad luck' or the full moon brings out the crazy, you have been influenced by this marketing to convert a country folk who celebrated the full moon at times of harvest into wild animals causing evil and chaos. During this time, science was doing its thing to help this view point along by pushing the study and benefits of herbs into the world of evil and the unknown. Once again time is a helper. After centuries of living in the shadows an herbal approach is now enjoying resurgence as a means to deal with our body and mind ills.

Crop Circles

Crop Circles

For some time the mystery of crop circles has baffled scientists, a crop circle is a large pattern created by the flattening of crops such as wheat, barley, rye, maize, or rapeseed. Crop circles are also referred to as crop formations because they are not always circular in shape. Crop circles are not always dotted randomly around the countryside, they appear near roads, areas villages, and cultural heritage monuments, like Stonehenge. We also know archaeological remains can cause crop marks in the fields in the shapes of circles and squares, but they do not appear overnight, and they are always in the same places every year These circles can be complex mathematical fractals, up to three quarters of a mile long, and covering up to 200,000 square ft. Crop circles- or agriglyphs- can now be found in all over the world where crops are grown Crop circle documentation goes back to 1890; several cases even date back to the 17th Century. They probably existed as fairy circles before that! Initially, the phenomenon was attributed to freak wind or tornados but it soon became clear tornados rip things up not flatten them out. In the 1980’s interest in crop circles really took off and the designs appeared as simple circles, and circles within rings. By the late 1980s circle became more intricate, some resembling the pictures or layout of sacred temples, areas or ancient artefacts. After 1990 the designs became even more complex and today crop circles mimic computer fractals and elements from quantum physics. However publicity about crop circles has led to hoaxes and two men claimed to have set up all the crop circles in Southern England in the 1980-90’s, but then later they retracted that admission. So how can we tell a hoax circle from a real one? A real crop circle does not have broken stems in the crop, the stems are actually bent. The plants appear to affected by heat which softens the stems to drop just above the ground at 90º. Steam can be seen rising from new crop circles, from the heat applied to the plants?? The soil in a crop circle will have changed composition and the mineral content changed. The circle is not perfectly round, they will be slightly elliptical Crop circles alter electromagnetic fields; compasses cannot locate north, and mobile phones will not work. Batteries are often drained. So what do you think are they real or man made?

The Book Of The Dead

The Book Of The Dead

The book of the dead dates from at least 1500Bc, it was written by the Egyptians consisting of a number of magic spells intended to assist a dead person's journey through the Duat, or underworld, and into the afterlife and written by many priests over a period of about 1000 years. The texts are divided into individual chapters, but no one papyrus contains them all. Specific chapters could be selected out of the total repertoire. The Egyptians were obsessed with death, they believed once they died they would go to an afterlife but the journey would not be easy and they would need spells, magic and charms to get them through it. The book of the dead contains just that 200 or so spells to help you on the journey to the afterlife. Many of the spells were written on the walls of tombs just in case the dead forgot them There were spells for all possible events, being eaten by a crocodile, opening the seven gates between death and the afterlife. They listed the names of the gods who guarded the gates, which they felt would give them power over the gods and make them open the gates. There were spells to ensure the dead could eat and drink on the journey (that’s why Mummy’s mouths were left open so they could still eat!) and food was left in tombs for them to take with them. But the book was not just written and read, it was copied (if you were rich enough) with the spells each person though they needed, studied and kept close until they did die. If the prospective owner of a Book was wealthy and his death not untimely, he might commission a scribe to write the text for him, based upon his personal choice of spells. Other less wealthy clients had to make do with a ready written text, a template, in which spaces had been left for the insertion of the name and titles of the buyer Although every book of the dead was unique they were mostly organised like this – Section 1- Descending into the underworld and slowly the dead regain their senses Section 2 - Explanation of the gods, their roles and where to find them, the dead live and rise again as the sun rises the following day Section 3- The dead travel across the sky and then at night go to the underworld to meet the God Osris. Sections 4- Once vindicated the dead rise and join the gods. Hope you enjoyed a quick tour of the book of the dead the real thing can be found at the British Muesum.

Creatures From The Deep

Creatures From The Deep

Over the few years or so there has been an increased interest in mermaids, films, pictures and first hand sightings have been showing up all over the world. You simply have to check out You Tube to find dozens of these. Traditionally mermaids were aquatic creatures with the upper body of a female human and the tail of a fish. They have appeared in folklore around the world for years both helping and hindering humans. Although some mermaids are described as monstrous and ugly, they are more usually very beautiful. Above the waist they appear as a lovely young woman, with flowing locks and a beautiful beguiling face. The first mermaid probably came from ancient Syrian (~ 1000 BC), there was a goddess who went by the name of Atargatis. She was a fertility goddess whose cult eventually spread to Greece and Rome and was associated with water (especially lakes) and fish. Often depicted in mermaid form, she may have been the beginning of a legend. The first recorded sightings were by the Arabs and the Greek Pliny around 580, Vikings and Saxons reported them off the coast of Scotland, Medieval sailors saw them around the world and this continued until the 1900's. British folklore portrays mermaids as the bringers of bad luck, the precursors to violent storms, beguiling sailors to take them to their death in the underworld and the sinking of ships. However in Scotland mermaids were known to bring cures to human aliments and granting them wishes. They even married humans staying on land to be with them or taking their husbands beneath the waves to live with them. Today we see mermaids as gentle sweet creatures thanks to Disney and a few other key films. Not that Walt was alone with this theory many cultures believed that these beings were immortal and had powers ranging from the ability to cure disease to granting wishes to being able to share their immortality. Today's renewed interest in mermaids is due to possible sightings of them and a documentary that showed a possible captured mermaid. There have been two notable sightings of mermaids in recent years. In 2012 a group of workers in Zimbabwe refused to work on two different reservoirs because they said that the mermaid creatures were forcing them away from the sites and wouldn't leave them alone. Another incident happened on a Sri Lankan beach, where there was supposedly a corpse of a mermaid discovered washed onto shore. There are theories that ancient man in times of atmospheric changes learnt to hold their breath under water to be able to hunt fish when very little food was available on land. Over time they developed gills and fins similar to our hands and feet probably at the similar rate that we developed from Neanderthal man. Alleged mermaid remains show a creature with identical spinal column, heart and lungs to humans then fins and flippers instead of hands and feet. But the jury is out do they exist or are they simply seals or Dugongs? Let us know on Twitter what you think.

Personal Development

Personal Development

Hi Zodiac followers and groupis How do psychics become psychics or mediums or indeed psychic mediums? It is said that some psychics and mediums volunteer to work and some are chosen. This is how my spiritual journey started. Many, many years ago (more than I care to remember) I had just started to take out young lady whose father was in the last stages of terminal cancer. Over the next few weeks as our friendship grew her father passed away to cancer. As family’s do after the funeral has taken place and the process of morning takes place questions begin to take place within the family. Is there life after death, and is there survival after death that spiritualist talk about? Is there a heaven or hell? How do we know if Jim (Jim’s not his real name) is ok? Has he survived? Where is he? Can he come back and tell us he is in a better place through spiritual communication via a medium or do we trust in blind faith? The main family members needed these questions answering, most of all it was Jim’s wife Iris who needed help (Iris is not her real name) all Iris wanted to know was, if her Jim was a survivor and was there an afterlife would see each other again? So many question and so few answers! This family had been for many years a model Christian type family. It had been disgust among family members that appropriate research was in order. My help was asked for and enlisted and so we together went to our first Sunday night service at one of the local spiritualist churches to see a medium. This was a very interesting night but as this sort of meeting does, they answer some questions but are a catalyst for even more questions. So the next stage of enquire was an evening in an open circle in the church guided by a medium. These circles by their very nature are there for not just the public to receive messages but for the members of the public to participate by receiving and giving messages themselves. The medium that night was a lady called Violet Edwards who started off the circle process and gave a few messages herself to show how it was done. This was my first night in such a circle and my intension was just to sit back listen and hope that Iris would get a message from her Jim and all would be well. That night she didn’t get her message but was satisfied enough to ask for a private sitting with this medium at a later date which answered a lot of her questions but most importantly gave her comfort and closer. But that’s not all that happened that night in that circle! Whilst sitting there minding my own business. I went into a day dream state and was aware and only aware of a man sat opposite me in the circle. The medium quietly asked me if I had got anything I could say to the man sitting opposite to me? I began telling the man that I felt very depressed and sad and that I had two dull repeating pains in my chest. The medium asked the gentle man opposite me if could relate to any information I had given him. He replied by saying yes he had had great concern about his health due to the fact that over the last few months he had had two heart attacks! There it was my first massage although it was a shock because it was unintentional I had been chosen to give him that piece of information. Although because I had not been a participating volunteer for this experience I put this experience behind and didn’t follow through with any further investigative study for over another year. After about a year of not wanting anything to do with the psychic or spiritual world out of curiosity I decided to take the plunge. From this point on I began my training with a Romany family who trained me up in my psychic abilities and the moved on to sit in church circles to learn medium ship. The Church later asked me to take up the training of mediums which I did for four years before return to my own personal development allowing me to develop a mental medium ship which is more like a type of spiritual mediation. The last twenty or more years has allowed me to learn some interesting things about people and spiritual energy and to this day continue to learn and teach. Thank for interest and time.
